Branch Fests

Alchemy

The understanding of the relationship between consciousness and matter, alchemy is the chemistry of turning lead into gold and the chemical engineer's fest named so is an attempt of creating "golden" memories from its contests.

The Chemical Engineering Student Society (CheSS) brings to you “Alchemy”, its annual fest, which provides the students a stage for showcasing their talents and exploring their skills, coupled with plenty of fun-filled activities.

The fest usually spans over three days, and witnesses a huge influx of students from all the branches and years. A few of the informal events include 'Roadies', 'Gold Rush', 'Housie', and 'Dumb Charades'. Events like Minute-To-Win-It and Dedications take place daily. For all the gaming enthusiasts, gaming tournaments take place simultaneously. If you’re into movies, TV shows and web-series, there is a quiz just for you. The artists have a separate set of activities organized for them.

For all our budding engineers, technical events take place, some of which are 'frugal'(best out of waste), paper presentations and 'aquamania'. Sports cannot be left behind either; therefore, 'gully cricket', 'futsal', 'chess' and 'carrom' are also arranged for.  For all the bookworms and the nerds, the readers and the writers, a set of literary events are held which include debates, extempore, spell-bee competitions & group discussions.

The fest usually concludes with the  ‘Walk of Fame’, a ramp-walk event, which is sponsored by a brand and the winners receive shopping vouchers. The winners of the various events are felicitated with certificates and trophies in a prize distribution ceremony held after the fest comes to a close.

The fest has events for everyone. The technical events include bridge making, boat making & house making, where one is required to construct a bridge, a boat or a house using ice-cream sticks by applying the laws of physics. For all the literature enthusiasts, debates and spell-bee competitions are conducted.

Many informal events also take place: 'tug of war', 'tattoo making', 'face painting', 'mock CID', 'ramp-walk' and 'talent rush' being some of them. For all the 'TV Maniacs', there is a quiz with the same name which tests you on how strong your movie and TV-show game actually is. 'Just duet' is a couple dance activity where the students get to showcase their dancing skills. For all the avid gamers out there, tournaments and competitions are held too.

The fest culminates with a scintillating EDM night, which is followed by a prize distribution ceremony.

Mechfest

MECHFEST is a technical and cultural fest organized by the Mechanical Engineering Department of IET Lucknow. The department strongly believes that co-curricular activities complement academics and help in shaping the personality of the students.

A plethora of events are organized providing a platform for the students to explore their hidden talents. The events are majorly divided into two categories: informal events and technical events.

The informal events have the literary and the cultural events under them. 'Personica' is an event wherein the students get to showcase their talents from singing, to dancing, acting, stand-up and many others. 'Inquisition' requires the participants to form teams of 5 and search for clues that will lead to deciphering the password of a phone. Another fun event is 'Contra Punto' wherein some of the participants act as celebrities and others as their interviews. Questions are put up to those acting as celebrities by the interviews. For all the gaming maniacs, LAN gaming takes place, to up the ante with their ludicrous amount of practice, acute timing, and skills, and often combine such maneuvers to create an even more ridiculous outcome. The games included counter strike, FIFA, and mini-militia.

The technical events of this fest are amongst the most sought after. The most important event of this category is the one where students make their own working models. 'Innovatica' is another such event where students demonstrate their original and creative ideas that could be implemented in our world for its betterment. 'Mech-Wars' requires the participants to create a cart using the things provided. The carts are put to a test in a race, and the cart which wins, bags the prize. Apart from these, a technical quiz is also conducted.

The winners are rewarded after the culmination of the fest, for which a prize distribution ceremony is held.

Some of the informal events include 'sillas musicales', 'moda rapida', 'ramp-walk' and many more.

A huge influx of crowd is seen during the fest. The participants of the various events are cheered by the on-lookers and the whole atmosphere is that of enthusiasm and fun.

The events are both technical and informal. From 'Scavenger Hunt', to 'Ramp walk', and 'Kritzvilla', a huge crowd is seen to participate. Shauryotsava

Shauryaotsava is the athletic and sport fest of IET Lucknow. The 3-day sport riot has become one of the largest inter-collegiate events of the city over the years and for some is described as being 'a tribute to all sport enthusiasts'. The thrill of victory is one of the most dear emotions a person can feel, however, at one point it ceases to be about winning. It transforms to becoming more about the surrounding atmosphere rather than the game itself.

The events in the fest include both indoor and outdoor games such as athletics, carrom, badminton, volleyball, tennis,taekwondo,basketball,chess,cricket,football,throw,kho-kho,handball kabaddi, etc.
