Societies Introduction Report
The Societies Introduction programme was organized by ISSACC as a part of the Induction Programme for the Batch of 2024 which was held virtually this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was a 3-day event that took place from the 12th to 14th of December, 2020 from 3:00pm to 4:30pm. The programme was streamed live on YouTube for all the first years to attend.

The introduction was held with the aim to familiarize the new batch with the clubs and societies of the college. With the aid of presentations and audio-visuals, freshers were apprised about what happens in the various clubs, the selection procedures and criteria and the accomplishments and milestones of the different clubs.

Day 1 and Day 2 of the programme majorly revolved around the literary, arts and cultural, and social clubs of the college. Day 3 was devoted to the technical clubs, the student media body and the sports club. Each day was concluded with the general secretaries of ISSACC answering the questions of the first years from the live chat of the live stream on YouTube. The students not only became aware of what the college encompasses in terms of extracurriculars and technical societies, but were made to understand the importance of clubs in an engineering student's college life as well as in his/her career.
Day 1 (12/12/2020):

The Societies Introduction programme commenced with the General Secretary of ISSACC addressing the batch of 2024 explaining the significance of the programme and giving them a synopsis of what the three days have in store for them.
​
It was followed by Dr. O.P. Singh, Chairman of ISSACC, addressing the freshers, highlighting the importance of extracurricular activities in a student’s life and urging the newly admitted students to make the best use of the facilities the college provides them with. After discussing the functioning and responsibilities of ISSACC through a detailed presentation, the programme headed towards the club introductions.

The first club that introduced itself was “IET Swaranjali”, the Indian Music Club of the college. The activities of the club, the achievements of the past and the present members and the selection criteria was discussed, which was followed by a quick glimpse into some of the captivating performances that the club members have rendered in the past.
​
Next up was the Western Music Club of the college, “IET Auroras”. The students were briefed about how the club came into existence and the events and activities it has been involved in ever since it was formed.
The music clubs were followed by the Choreography Team or the Dance Club of IET, “Insaniax”. From the fun practice sessions to the breathtaking award-winning performances that brought laurels to the college, the freshers were given a sneak peek into what all happens in the club. The selection criteria was elucidated for the ones considering joining the team.
The Dramatics Society of the college “IET Josh” maintained the fervour by introducing themselves next. The day was wrapped up with the recordings of some of their most powerful performances, followed by a brief Q&A session.
Day 2 (13/12/2020):
The Second day started off with the introduction of a club completely devoted towards the greater good of the society, the Social Club of IET, “Parmarth”. From teaching the children in the slums to conducting cloth distribution drives, the newcomers were familiarized with all that the club does for the down-trodden and were called upon to lend a helping hand in the proceedings by becoming a part of the team.
Next up was the Fine Arts Society of IET, “Kalakriti”. Students were made aware of the activities of the club, the events that the club members participate in every year, their achievements and what is there in the club for the up-and-coming artists among the freshers. The students were presented with the pictures of some exquisite artworks of the members that have brought home appreciation and prizes in the past.
The Official Photography and Filmmaking Club of IET, “Mirage”, was next. The workshops and competitions conducted by the club, along with the other intricacies of the club were discussed in detail. The first years were walked through the selection procedure.
“IET Excelsior'', the Literary Club of our college introduced itself next. The students were told about the various activities that are conducted in the club and why it is the place to be for all those who appreciate literature. The students were given a rundown of some of the competitions that the members have participated in and won in ever since the club came into existence, as well as the projects that have been undertaken by the club.
Concluding the club introductions for the day we had “Rhetorica”, the Anchoring and Compèring Club of IET. The importance of the club was highlighted with a list of all the events of the college that the team compères for. After answering the questions of the first years, the day was wrapped up.
Day 3 (14/12/2020):

The third day began with the introduction of the technical clubs of the college.
​
First up was the Robotics Club of IET. Apart from highlighting the growing popularity and demand of robotics in today's times, the students were made aware of the things that the members get to learn in the club, the past achievements of the members, as well as the placements and internships that those achievements have been able to fetch them. The students were given a glimpse into the projects that the club has undertaken and the models that they have created over the years.

The Robotics club was followed by the Coding Club of IET, “Fractal”. The club invited all the coding geeks of the batch of 2024 and the ones who wish to learn from the very basics to be a part of them. The importance of coding was reinforced while briefing the students about what the club offers to its members, the placements and internships that the members have been able to bag in the past, as well as the various national and international competitions that the members have aced in.

Next up was the “Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), IET Lucknow”, the Automobile club of the college. A video showing the members working on models and projects, test-driving them, presenting them in college fests was played to give a quick look into what it is like to be a member of SAE.
​
Next, we had the student media body of the college, “iET Whiteboard”. The students were made aware of Whiteboard’s publications, various ongoing and completed projects and series, the events that they organize, as well the importance that the body holds in the college.
​
Lastly we had the Sports Club of IET introducing itself to the freshers. The students were briefed about the games and activities that the club indulges in and the teams it comprises. By enumerating the achievements of the teams, the students were made aware of the fact that they too have a chance to represent the college in the different state and national level competitions.
​
The event was wrapped up with the Joint Secretary, Aditya Shaurya (ECE-2022) and the General Secretary of ISSACC, Koustubh Jaiswal (EE-2021) giving their word of advice to the batch of 2024, and answering some of their questions from the live chat on YouTube.
